Context7 packages have separate release schedules. Use each package’s changelog for its full release history, including fixes, new features, and breaking changes.

Before you upgrade

  1. Check the changelog for changes since your installed version.
  2. Check the runtime requirements and migration notes.
  3. Test your client configuration and documentation queries with the new version.
For the MCP server, version 2 replaced get-library-docs with query-docs and introduced query-based retrieval. Version 3 introduced HTTP sessions; version 4 removed those sessions and uses stateless HTTP serving. See Architecture & Operational Behavior for current transport behavior. Tool descriptions ask agents to use each tool at most 3 times per question. This instruction does not create a server-enforced request limit. See rate limits for account and request limits.
